Citycounter is a speculative weekly newspaper which reimagines the way the city of Zurich will communicate with its people in the future.
Using a lottery system, each week 12 citizens are selected as contributors, one from each of the city’s 12 zones. Participation is compulsory. Contributors may write an article on a topic of their choosing. The resulting contents are structured into a newspaper using the style guides set by the city’s editorial board.
The printed publication is distributed weekly to residencies within the city limits free of charge; the stories are also available online, along with an archive of previously published material.
This was a collaborative project with Vincent Jan Dufke, Marc Jauss, and Basil Haug.
